Boating Emergency Guide

If you have a genuine concern for the safety or welfare of any persons on board a boat, who have not returned or checked-in within a reasonable amount of time, then do the following:

What you need:

  • The Float Plan, if one was given to you.  If you were not given a Float Plan then download the USCG Float Plan and follow the instructions on the last page entitled "Boating Emergency Guide" starting with step 5.
  • Pen or Pencil.
  • Clean sheet of paper or writing tablet.
  • Telephone book.

Next, download the USCG Float Plan and follow the instructions on the last page entitled "Boating Emergency Guide".
